Finding the Positive Through All the Negative

Have you ever found yourself dwelling on all the negative around you? Have you ever said "If it ain't one thing, it's another," or "When it rains it pours."?

I'm sure you have, we are all guilty of it. If there's one trait I gained from my mother, it's to always find the positive in ANY situation. Even in my parents' death, I was able to find even the smallest positive in knowing they were no longer suffering. Now I won't make this read all depressing and somber, but I encourage you to step back and instead of focusing on what's wrong, call out at least one thing that's right in every situation or challenge you face. Here's a couple of examples of what I mean:

~ Your morning isn't going quite right, you woke up late, spilled your favorite drink and got to work late. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong that morning, be grateful that you woke up in your right mind to experience all of that.

~You got into an accident and it was your fault. You know your insurance is going to take a hit, you're probably going to get a ticket and perhaps now you've jacked up your car. Yes all of this is a hassle, but the good thing was that no one was seriously hurt. It could have been worse.

Yes, we all know that life be "life-ing", but we don't have to get stuck in those negative moments and thoughts. Train your brain to list the good things and see how it begins to change your overall outlook on things.

You CAN be the sunshine on a cloudy day!!
